社會麻醉的當下，傳播媒體如潰堤的洪水，快速渲染與擴散，在社會結構的變異下，訊息的傳遞帶有某種「儀式性」，使得傳播媒體的訊息類比宗教法典。然而當傳播媒體如宗教「單一與排他」時，傳播媒體也將如宗教般取代國家統治人民的精神與意識。

馬歇爾‧麥克魯漢(Marshall McLuhan)的著作《Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man》，提出「媒體即訊息(The Medium is the message)」，指出了科技時代傳播媒體作為推動社會的最強力量與能力。從傳播媒體在於社會的影響下，在新自由主義的後現代，財團凌駕國家機器時，財團又取得傳播媒體的傳教途徑，將如同科幻小說一般，財團能用其引發「集體催眠」的邪教威力，進而掌控人民，取得無冕之王的頂端。

後傳媒時代當下，媒體壟斷財團掌勢，這些都是當下人們需注意與對抗的目標，在科技高速下、後現代的當下，我們將試圖成為「訊息即媒體」，即是公民意識抬頭、獨立新聞蓬勃、媒體多元如繁星，此時社會中的每位個體都是訊息的一份子亦都是媒體。

Escape from the Religion of Cracker

Similar to a religion, the media uses “images” and “message” as a means to “brainwash” and “preach” to the public. With the theme, “Escape from the Religion of Cracker”, this exhibition aims to portray the powerful religion-like media (the Religion of Cracker) and its control over the masses, as well as people’s attempts to escape from its grasp. In a society under its spell, the mass media has become like a flood that has spilled over the dikes, as its message quickly permeates throughout every aspect of society. In such a distorted reality, the transmission of information is like a “ritual,” where the message of the media seemingly takes on the form of religious code. Like a religion, the media exhibits a “singular and exclusive” perspective, while positioning its rhetoric as the spiritual voice for the nation
